Message for School Community about Sports and Spectators

With the change in high school sports schedules due to COVID-19, fall sports will begin competition this week and next week throughout Isle of Wight County.

Fall sports include football, field hockey, cross country, volleyball, golf, competition cheer, and sideline cheer. We are excited to kick-off these activities and wish all of the student athletes and coaches a successful season.

Several of these sports typically generate crowds of spectators from the community. However, due to restrictions set forth in the Governor's most recently amended Executive Order 72, spectators for the events will be limited to two family members or selected guests of the participants. No tickets will be sold to the general public for any game. We encourage those who wish to continue supporting the high school student athletes, coaches, and their teams this season to watch the games and matches on the NFHS network at www.nfhsnetwork.com

We look forward to the day when we can welcome all of our fans back to cheer-on Smithfield High in person.  Until then, we appreciate your understanding and patience. Go Packers!
