Packers Save Lives with Blood Drive

Students, faculty and community members came together again on April 26 and 27 to donate blood and save lives. The Red Cross collected 100 pints of blood, resulting in the possibility of saving 300 lives.

Smithfield Aesthetics, Workout Anytime, Massimo Zanetti Beverage Co, and the Smithfield Times all donated outstanding gifts to lucky donors.

Smithfield High School has been running blood drives since 1998. More than 3,000 pints of blood have been collected and 3,452 people have registered as donors, with almost 1,400 being first-time donors. According to the Red Cross, SHS blood drive donors have helped more than 9,000 people celebrate more birthdays.

Thank you to all who donated and congratulations to the raffle winners: Darby Badoian, Michelle Brink, Parker Pack, Summer Fruchey and Lucy Lamarche.
