Congratulations to the following Engineering III/IV KidWind/Solar Challenge Teams for their exemplary performance at the 2024 Eastern Regional KidWind Competition, held at the Virginia Beach Advanced Technology Center on March 4, 2024. Our teams competed with 19 teams from Virginia Beach Advanced Technology Center, Norfolk and York County. We will be sending 4 teams to state competition at JMU on April 6!
In the Solar Challenge:
Team Hungry Chickens’ solar-powered animal feeder won first place, the People’s Choice Award, Circuit Master and the Solar Geek Award for the highest score in the Knowledge Quiz
Team Roaring Packers’ solar-powered air quality monitoring box won second place and the Judges Award for “Brightest Idea”
Team Thunder Knights’ solar powered toy car won third place.
In the HS Wind Division:
Team Goon Squad won first place, Best Blade Design, and tied with Tabb High for the Wind Geek Award
Team BallCap Fabricators won third place (this team attended a central VA regional competition and won first place)
